My name is Gemma, I'm 27 and I am a ridiculously pale-skinned beauty obsessive. You'll often find me daydreaming about all of the lovely things in life. I am a true metaphorical magpie with a penchant for monochrome, sparkle, all things beauty and making my 'nest' pretty with beautiful trinkets and furnishings.

Skin Tone: Very pale with a pink undertone and freckles.
Skin Type: Dry and dehydrated yet blemish prone.
Hair: Long, Brunette, Fine & Lots of it!
Favourite Beauty Brands: Highend; NARS, Benefit & Urban Decay. Drugstore; Makeup Revolution and Soap & Glory.

Miss Makeup Magpie is a UK Beauty & Lifestyle blog, which hatched on the 16th of December 2012, thanks to a spur of the moment decision. Since then it has grown way beyond my wildest dreams, which amazes me every single day and I'm so glad I took the plunge and started my blog when I did.

I'd like to think of Miss Makeup Magpie as my personal haven to be able to write and obsess over everything and anything... especially the things that make my heart flutter, or make my purse open. However if I'm disappointed by a product, I'll always let you know as I personally feel negative reviews are often more important than the positive ones - so you know which products to avoid, and save your hard-earned money.

I have an obsession for all things beauty, and simply love trying new things on my never-ending mission to find my "Holy Grail" products. All opinions expressed here on my blog, or on any of my social media accounts are my own. Miss Makeup Magpie features mainly reviews and views, wishlists, hauls and giveaways.. but I also like to feature anything else that takes my fancy along the way.

+ When did you start Miss Makeup Magpie?
On the 16th of December 2012.

+ What camera do you use?
I now use the Nikon D3200 with the 18-55mm Kit Lens, but I used a Nikon D5100 to take all of the photo's on my blog until the Sept 2014.

+ Do you use Studio Lighting?
Yes! I have tried five different sets of Studio Lighting since I began blogging and I've only just found the perfect set. It's a set of two studio lamps which I love as they're small, sturdy, and compact yet the height is adjustable and they're very powerful too at 135 watts each and just £50 (link). I don't use the white tent that comes with the lamps as I've found that it gives a yellow tinge to photos, so I use a white perspex sheet (link) as a background for my photos as it's really effective at reflecting the light.

+ What are your favourite blogs/bloggers?
I have made a Blog Roll listing all of my favourite blogs that I love, which I update regularly.
